A spokesperson for the U.S. Commerce Consultant was not instantly out there for remark when contacted by CNBC.
However spokesperson Adam Hodge informed Reuters on Monday that the U.S. has acquired the request for consultations from China regarding the semiconductor export restrictions.
“As we’ve already communicated to the PRC (Individuals’s Republic of China), these focused actions relate to nationwide safety, and the WTO just isn’t the suitable discussion board to debate points associated to nationwide safety,” Hodge stated.
